Start with the issued PO and its supplier agreement, then reproduce the Supplier One search with the correct order class and identifier. Record the active filters and check time. An empty result does not establish cancellation, and a submitted creation request is not proof that an order was issued.
You have a Walmart PO number and an order record, but Supplier One returns nothing. Before treating the order as canceled or asking someone to create another one, establish which record and search you are comparing.
This guide covers a known PO for a Walmart U.S. first-party domestic warehouse supplier, called Owned in Supplier One. Import, DSV, Marketplace, Sam’s Club and non-U.S. programs need their own instructions. If the problem is that Walmart has stopped issuing new orders, start with the order-gap investigation.
For a first-five-minutes start, capture one order, one reproducible search and one next request. The inline support note below gives you a short format to copy into your team’s case record.
What establishes that this PO was issued?
Retain the original order record, its source and date. Match the Walmart PO number, supplier agreement and receiving location. Keep your company’s internal order number separate. Preserve identifiers as text when opening spreadsheets so leading zeros and long numbers survive.
A forecast or creation receipt is not an issued PO. Walmart’s domestic PO creation guide distinguishes initial validation from Approved requests with active orders. The same guide also allows a failed submission to be marked reviewed and complete. Confirm the resulting PO number and order record rather than treating every completed submission as an issued order.
An original PO establishes what was recorded then. It does not, by itself, establish the latest quantities, dates or status. Keep subsequent order records with it.
Can you reproduce the search precisely?
Walmart’s Getting Started guide separates PO management from submission tracking. Confirm the page. Our Supplier One and Retail Link guide provides system orientation.
In its View and Download POs section, the domestic PO guide describes an Owned tab when both Owned and DSV orders are available, a Supplier IDs filter covering linked six- and nine-digit agreement numbers, Domestic PO selection and searches by PO or item number. Check those controls against your current screen; the help article’s indexed text was reviewed, not your account.
Work through three comparisons:
- Identifier: enter the exact PO using the corresponding search type. Do not substitute an item number, invoice number or internal reference.
- Agreement: compare the selected supplier agreement with the one on the order. A shared company name does not establish that two agreement numbers are interchangeable.
- Search scope: record every active filter and its value, including any order-status selection. If the view is limited to Open orders, check the other status options available to you; a PO that moved to another status may be excluded. Changing a search filter does not change the order. If a date condition is present, retain both the field label and range. The day you received a document is not necessarily the date that field describes.
Preserve the original search, then change one relevant condition at a time. Record each result. This makes a successful comparison explainable and an unsuccessful one useful to the next owner.
What does an empty result actually tell you?
It tells you that the recorded search did not locate the PO. It does not establish cancellation, a missing permission, an inactive supplier account or a delay of a particular length.
Distinguish “no rows returned” from a page that failed to load, an error message or an unavailable module. Preserve the exact observation and check time with a timezone. If the intended agreement is not selectable, ask the appropriate account owner to verify the relationship and access. Do not label that a permissions failure without evidence.
An authorized colleague’s lookup can help if you compare the same PO, agreement, screen, conditions and observation times. Different conditions cannot isolate a cause. Use individual accounts.
A fictional example: the PO belongs to another agreement
All names, identifiers and events below are invented. The readable labels are placeholders, not valid Walmart identifiers.
A coordinator has an issued order record for PO-DEMO-208, receiving node NODE-DEMO, under AGREEMENT-B. At 1:50 a.m. on September 13, 2026, America/Chicago time, the coordinator searches the exact PO in the domestic Owned view. The search has AGREEMENT-A selected and returns no rows.
At 1:55 a.m., the coordinator changes only the agreement selection to B. The PO appears. The coordinator preserves the two searches and checks the returned PO identity against the original record.
The finding is specific: the earlier search excluded this order’s agreement. It does not show that the PO was recreated, restored or newly approved. The visibility issue is explained; the current order details still need review before the team relies on them for fulfillment.
What should the next owner receive?
If the comparison still cannot locate the PO, send the original order reference, supplier agreement, exact search conditions, observation time and any error through the applicable support channel. Include an authorized colleague’s comparison only if its scope is documented.
The domestic PO guide directs viewing issues to Help > Manage tickets, with issue type Orders and Shipping. Confirm the current route and labels in your account. Walmart’s Owned-supplier support page also separates access and EDI assistance from transportation and PO-revision work.
Ask: “Please confirm this PO’s current record and explain why it is not returned under these search conditions.” Identify the affected operating commitment and an internal follow-up checkpoint. Do not create another PO or change order terms merely to make a search return a result.
Use this note, replacing brackets with evidence or “unknown”:
Order: [PO, agreement, receiving location, original record and date]. Search: [page, identifier type/value, active filters, check time and timezone]. Result: [no rows, exact error, or another observation]. Comparison: [one changed condition and its result]. Request: [specific unresolved question, owner and internal checkpoint]. Evidence: [authorized locations of the original and later records].
If the next problem concerns a shipment’s ASN, use the No ASN Received guide. For an acknowledged invoice missing from AP, use the invoice investigation. Finding the PO does not settle either question.
Startup Success Lab’s account-review and follow-through process helps connect the resulting evidence with named owners and decisions. The order lookup remains with the people who have the appropriate account access.
