Comp week finder
Enter a date or a WM week; get last year's same-numbered week, both date ranges, the calendar drift between them, and any holiday that sits in one week but not the other. Runs entirely in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
Notes to this tool
1 Retail comps align by week number: this year's W14 against last year's W14. Because 52 weeks is 364 days, the same-numbered week covers calendar dates about one day earlier each year, and floating holidays drift against the week grid. A comp that moved because the calendar moved is not a trend.
2 Some fiscal years run 53 weeks (FY24 did). Week 53 has no same-numbered week in the prior year, and in the year after a 53-week year the same-numbered weeks sit 371 days apart, so dates land about six days later instead of one day earlier. For anything money-adjacent, the fiscal-year calendar published in Walmart's own systems is the governing record.
3 Holidays checked: New Year's Day, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, July 4, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. All computed arithmetically in your browser.
The alignment is the easy half.
The hard half is what the comp means mid-task: whether the dip is Easter drift or a real trend, and which week a scorecard is actually keyed to. Retail Reason answers those questions where you work, dated and classed. How Walmart weeks work is written up in the article, and the plain converter is at /tools/walmart-week-converter.
